“My life was complete. Happy, content, everything neat and perfect.
Then it all changed.
I was sold.”
Tess Snow has everything she ever wanted: one more semester before a career in property development, a loving boyfriend, and a future dazzling bright with possibility.
For their two year anniversary, Brax surprises Tess with a romantic trip to Mexico. Sandy beaches, delicious cocktails, and soul-connecting sex set the mood for a wonderful holiday. With a full heart, and looking forward to a passion filled week, Tess is on top of the world.
But lusty paradise is shattered.
Kidnapped. Drugged. Stolen. Tess is forced into a world full of darkness and terror.
Captive and alone with no savior, no lover, no faith, no future, Tess evolves from terrified girl to fierce fighter. But no matter her strength, it can’t save her from the horror of being sold.
Can Brax find Tess before she’s broken and ruined, or will Tess’s new owner change her life forever?
I LOVE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. I do. To each their own that’s what I say. I love Stockholm syndrome even more when it’s written so beautifully. Like this one…
“A human is adaptable. A human heart is not.”
The hero in Tears of Tess was impeccable. He was just so likable to me from the get go. I sensed that there was something about him that connected me to him, I just hadn’t gotten to it yet. But when I did, I wanted to pat myself on the back for having such a great judgement of character. Or maybe I’m just a sucker for damaged heroes? The heroine was wonderful. She was strong, feisty, and not too whiny. Most books in this genre I can’t read because the heroines turn me off but Tess was great. I feel like Pepper wrote believable characters that had great depth.
“Monsters find each other in the dark.”
The sex was hot. It wasn’t cheesy, raunchy, or annoying. It was just….hot.
The story line wasn’t over done or overly exaggerated. I felt like the pace of the story was great and it kept me intrigued throughout the whole book. Not to mention, Pepper has some superb writing. The inner dialogue was great. And the epilogue was WONDERFUL!
I felt too many emotions with this book. I haven’t read an erotica in a while either so it was nice to jump back into it with this read. I feel like if any one is wanting to dip their feet into a “darker” read this would be a great start for them.
